lion dance

One of the main activities for hotels during Chinese New Year is of course, lion dance performance. We had ours on the 10th day of the Chinese New Year.

To make it a successful stunt, as usual, lots of “mise en place” had to be done prior; we had to get pomelos, red packets, mandarin oranges, coins (to be tossed and people will frantically collect on the floor for “ong”) sugar canes and the whole nine yards.

To gamblers, of course they were asking the God Of Prosperity for some “ong” numbers and placed bets, hoping to strike it rich and never to work a single day again. How nice.
