Ipoh’s food!!

We made a last minute decision to go back Ipoh last Saturday as my youngest sister was to have her wedding dinner on Sunday.

We didnt stay back for the dinner as Celeste is going to have her final term exam. Anyhow, we decided to go as all my sisters will be back for the happy occasion. 

We stayed at Syuen hotel for the night as my parent’s house couldnt accommodate so many of us.

Upon reaching Ipoh, we made a pit stop at one of my favourite place to have lunch. The pre-war coffee house is just across the old Foh San restaurant.

We had “chee cheong fun” with mushroom sauce (Carment loved it!!), our favourite “kai see hor fun” and Ipoh’s style rojak (sauce is served separately)

After we had our lunch, we walked to have Funny mountain’s tau foo fah. Its the BEST IN THE WORLD!

Carment can attest to it.

Cars from outstation lined up along the road to have its tau foo far, ala drive through. You can spot cars of all models, patiently inch its way to the small shop.

You just wind down your car window and make known your order. You can then have tau foo far, soya bean or “hak pak” (black and white – soya bean drink with cincau) in the comfort of your car. 

“Hak pak” actually started from this shop as i can recall vividly I had this when i was still in my teens!
